Keep on reading to get more deets on sunken eyes and one oh-so-easy temporary solution.

Do You Have Sunken Eyes?

Our skin is the largest organ of the body, with the part around the eyes being the most delicate. This is why it needs some extra TLC! Many factors can cause the skin to appear sunken or hollow and even darker than the skin on the rest of your face. When treated at the right time, this issue can be corrected.

What causes sunken eyes?

1. Dehydration

Does your liquid intake consist mostly of coffee? This could be the culprit. Dehydration and not having enough water can give you that hollow look under your eyes.

2. Vitamin deficiencies

Lack of vitamin C, K, and even iron can lead to sunken eyes. According to medical journals, “hollow” eyes are a common symptom of undernutrition.

3. Lack of sleep

This one is a no-brainer. Aside from dark circles, those late nights in front of your screen can also lead to sunken eyes.

4. Age or genetics

If your sunken eyes are caused due to age and genetics, it might take more than just a lifestyle change to treat them. When it comes to age, this problem is due to collagen loss. Collagen is naturally produced by the body which maintains the elasticity of the skin. Unfortunately, production starts to decrease over time. This causes the eyes to settle back into the sockets, creating that sunken look.

Easy Step by Step Tutorial to Hide Sunken Eyes within 5 mins

The best part of this tutorial is that you don’t need to be a makeup guru to ace it. All you need is your trusty under eye cream, concealer, colour corrector, and the all-mighty setting powder. Scroll on down to learn how to make sunken eyes disappear within 5 minutes.

Step 1

Layer on the under eye cream

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – the skin around your eyes is very delicate. So, before proceeding, make sure to first hydrate it with an under eye cream. Like any makeup tutorial, it is always beneficial to start with a good base. Plus, the cream will keep your skin hydrated.

Step 2

Add a colour corrector if you have dark circles

This step is for those who have dark circles as well or want to even out their skin tone. Dab a pea-size amount of colour corrector around your eyes. A little is enough to make a big difference.

Step 3

Conceal it all

Once the colour corrector has dried, go ahead and add a bit of concealer. Add a bit around your eyes and start blending.

Step 4

Top it off

Like any makeup look, it’s always good to complete your base with a bit of setting powder. In this case, using a matte setting powder will help keep the light from reflecting off the concealer which would otherwise make your eyes appear even more sunken.

And there you go, four easy steps that will immediately give you a confidence boost in front of the camera!
